The information on this page is important for every PlainsCapital Bank customer. Putting these basic, everyday fraud prevention practices into work will help to drastically reduce your chance of becoming a victim.
How to Report Fraud
If you are worried you might have compromised your PlainsCapital Bank account, please contact us immediately. The sooner we know of an issue, the sooner we can assist you.
Reporting Phishing Phone Calls
Phishing is a common scam where fraudsters call and/or send text messages to customers from a “spoofed” PlainsCapital Bank phone number. The fraudster impersonates a bank employee, claims there is a problem with the customer’s account, and then asks for the customer’s account information such as user IDs, passwords, or text verification codes.
If you are suspicious about a request for personal information or the legitimacy of an inbound phone call, hang up, call your local branch or PlainsCapital Bank customer service at 866.762.8392, and ask to be transferred to the fraud department.
Reporting an Incident After the Fact
If you have accidentally given someone the following types of information, call us at one of the phone numbers listed at the bottom of this page:
Debit card number
Personal information, such as your Social Security number/ taxpayer identification number, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, etc.
