PlainsCapital Bank Expands Austin Lending Team

DALLAS, TX (Aug. 30, 2021) – PlainsCapital Bank recently expanded its commercial banking team in Austin, Texas, with the addition of Laura Kane and Rodney Thompson as senior vice presidents of commercial lending and Carly McCollum as commercial loan officer. Kane and McCollum will serve clients from PlainsCapital’s downtown Austin office at 201 W. 5th St., while Thompson will work from its Westlake branch at 2705 Bee Caves Road.

Laura Kocurek Kane
Kane has nearly 25 years of commercial banking experience, primarily in the Austin area. She previously served for 10 years as vice president and Austin market leader at Crockett National Bank’s real estate and banking group. She has extensive commercial banking experience in a broad range of sectors, including owner occupied and investment real estate, construction, industrial, wholesale, land acquisition, recreational land purchases, and nonprofits. Kane received her bachelor’s in Finance with a minor in Spanish from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Rodney Thompson
Thompson has 25 years of financial services experience, including 20 in commercial banking. Most recently, Thompson served as senior vice president at BBVA where he developed relationships between bank and corporate clients. During his time there, he served clients with annual revenues ranging from $10 million to $500 million. Thompson received a BBA from Sam Houston State University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Carly McCollum
McCollum has more than two years of experience in commercial lending and banking. She served as an associate relationship manager at Frost National Bank in Dallas, Texas, before joining PlainsCapital Bank in Austin, her hometown. McCollum received her BBA in Finance from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.
