On May 3, the Texas Bankers Foundation honored Wanda Parker from Lubbock and Bob Glenn from Weatherford for their 50 years of service to the banking industry. Both Wanda and Bob were honored at the 50-Year Banker Award Luncheon during Texas Bankers Association’s 129th Annual Convention and Exposition in San Antonio. This annual award recognizes Texas bankers who have devoted 50 or more years of service to the banking industry.

He was eventually trained to become a loan officer and found his passion for helping people achieve their goals in life. Bob began working for Merchants and Farmers Bank (which would later become Texas Bank) in 1980 and was named branch president in 2000. In 2006, PlainsCapital Bank opened in Weatherford with Bob Glenn as executive vice president.

Wanda and Bob were among 14 other Texas bankers honored at the award ceremony. More than 15 PlainsCapital employees attended the luncheon to show their support for Wanda and Bob including Alan B. White, chairman and chief executive officer of PlainsCapital Corporation and Brian Heflin, chief operations officer of PlainsCapital Bank. Les Eubank, president of PlainsCapital Bank in Lubbock, John Owens, Lubbock region chairman, Pat Hamilton, president of PlainsCapital Bank in Weatherford and Steve Hambrick, region chairman of PlainsCapital Bank in Fort Worth, also attended the ceremony.
