Upward Momentum Team Hosts Jubilee Park Field Trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
On June 25, middle school students enrolled in Jubilee Park & Community Center’s summer program toured the interactive Economy in Action exhibit at the Dallas Federal Reserve to learn about historical currency, monetary policy and the Eleventh Federal Reserve District’s role in maintaining financial stability. The field trip was hosted by PlainsCapital’s Upward Momentum team in Dallas comprised of Carrie Garcia, Patrick Hunt, Zach Hunter, Travis Irby, Logan Passmore and Charley Sanders.
After the Federal Reserve tour, students were invited to Victory Park’s fifth floor conference room for pizza and a Q&A session with Upward Momentum group members who discussed their various roles within the Bank. Special guest J.J. Gomez, president of PlainsCapital Bank at Victory Park, spoke to students about hard work, persistence and the importance of setting goals.
The Federal Reserve tour kicked-off the Dallas Upward Momentum team’s partnership with Jubilee Park & Community Center. Beginning this fall, members of Upward Momentum in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and Lubbock will teach personal financial literacy classes to middle school students within their partner organizations.
