Roseanna McGill Named Chairman of PrimeLending, Dallas-Fort Worth’s Largest Mortgage Lending Company

Todd Salmans, executive vice president and chief operations officer, promoted to president.

Roseanna McGill has been named chairman of PrimeLending, the largest mortgage lending company in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and Todd Salmans has been promoted to president. McGill founded PrimeLending in 1986 and the company was acquired by PlainsCapital Corporation in 1999. PlainsCapital Corporation is among the largest independent financial services companies in Texas.

“Roseanna has built PrimeLending from the ground up and has created a culture of success for her team members,” said Alan B. White, chairman and chief executive officer of PlainsCapital Corporation. “Her strong leadership has produced results regardless of market conditions, which is a true sign of her business acumen.”

PrimeLending has been named the no. 1 residential mortgage lender three years in a row by the Dallas Business Journal. With loan production of $2.6 billion in 2006, PrimeLending generates more than 40 percent of its business from repeat customers, quite a feat in the rate-driven mortgage business. The company has more than 700 employees in 60 locations across 18 states. The company’s headquarters is located at Frankford and Preston in Far North Dallas.

“This new position allows me to focus on strategic planning for PrimeLending,” said McGill. “This move also allows PrimeLending to fully benefit from Todd Salmans’ leadership and experience as he assumes responsibility over daily operations, loan processing and sales.”

Roseanna McGill, chairman and CEO of PrimeLending, is an entrepreneur and a former certified public accountant. Within a year of its start in 1986, PrimeLending was generating $28 million and by 1998 the company’s loan production had increased to $750 million. In 1999, PrimeLending joined PlainsCapital Corporation and McGill became the first woman to join the PlainsCapital Corporation board in 2000. The acquisition by PlainsCapital allowed McGill to grow PrimeLending beyond its original three Dallas offices to locations across the U.S. Meanwhile, PrimeLending’s loan production sky-rocketed, reaching $2.6 billion in 2006. McGill was named to the Fort Worth Business Press’ Great Women of Texas list in 2005.

Todd Salmans, president of PrimeLending, a 30-year veteran of the mortgage banking industry, joined PrimeLending in 2005 as executive vice president and chief operations officer.

“PrimeLending is an incredibly dynamic organization,” said Salmans. “We have an entrepreneurial ‘can do’ spirit that encourages creativity and rewards results. I’m looking forward to leading the company.”

Prior to joining PrimeLending, Salmans served as regional executive vice president of CTX/Centex, regional senior vice president of Chase Manhattan/Chase Home Mortgage Corp., and regional senior vice president of First Union National Bank/First Union Mortgage Corp.
