On Saturday, September 28, PlainsCapital sponsored an executive luncheon in Austin at the third annual Texas Tribune Festival at The University of Texas McCombs School of Business Hall of Honors. The event was well attended by business leaders and other community members, with nearly 100 attendees. Thomas Gilligan, the dean of the McCombs School of Business opened the luncheon with a welcome, while Evan Smith, founder and editor-in-chief of The Texas Tribune spoke to attendees about the statewide political environment.
“PlainsCapital was honored to support The Texas Tribune Festival through our sponsorship of the executive luncheon,” said James Huffines, chief operating officer of PlainsCapital Corporation. “The luncheon provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to network and interact with business, political and community leaders throughout the state while learning about public policy issues that affect all Texans.”
PlainsCapital’s live mascot Mo the Buffalo made an appearance at the Festival which featured U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Texas First Lady Anita Perry, State Senator Wendy Davis and almost every 2014 candidate for statewide office in Texas. The event provided unique and varied perspectives to attendees and received national coverage as a convergence of all aspects of the Texas political scene.
