PlainsCapital Bank's Aaron Zarbo Graduates from Southern Methodist University's Southwest Graduate School of Banking
Aaron Zarbo, vice president and loan review analyst at PlainsCapital Bank in Irving, Texas, graduated from Southern Methodist University’s Southwest Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) after completing a three- year course focused on management training, strategic visioning and long-range planning. Aaron graduated with distinction, finishing third in his class of 80 students and received the Board of Trustee’s scholarship for leadership and merit at the annual Bracewell & Giuliani awards banquet on June 6.
SWGSB is considered to be the nation’s top educational source for financial industry professionals. The graduate school’s faculty are drawn from the country’s top banking, loan and commercial lending experts, bank regulators, consultants, economists and law authorities.
One of SWGSB’s unique features is BankCEO, a one-of-a-kind, online simulation that offers students a real-world, interactive experience of managing a commercial bank. They deal with many of the financial and operational aspects faced regularly by senior officers in banks including, competing in a dynamic marketplace, adhering to bank regulatory authorities and managing their virtual investment and loan portfolio, deposit generation strategy, capital position, cash flow and profitability.
“Southwest Graduate School of Banking has given me valuable insight into the industry and provided ideas for some of the issues PlainsCapital Bank’s executive management team faces on a regular basis,” said Aaron. “The program also provided me with a solid foundation to contribute to the Bank’s long-term initiatives.”
