PlainsCapital Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer Carol Towne Serves on Financial Literacy Panel at the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas
On July 24, PlainsCapital Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer Carol Towne served on the “Best Practices Panel” at the Financial Literacy Summit sponsored by Independent Bankers Association of Texas and Texas Bankers Association. The annual event was held at the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas and was attended by more than 75 bankers committed to providing sound consumer and financial information to members of their community.
Carol’s presentation focused on PlainsCapital Bank’s financial literacy program that was established in 2012 to teach middle school students in each major Bank market about saving, budgeting and making sound financial decisions. During the 2013-2014 school year, PlainsCapital Bank employee volunteers contributed more than 300 hours of service working with more than 100 students, teaching them the principles of being financially literate and setting themselves up for success in the future.
Accompanying Carol on the “Best Practices Panel” were Marcus Vasquez, AVP/CRA Officer at Woodforest National Bank and Dr. Becky Larson from Temple High School.
Carol has served as Chief Marketing Officer at PlainsCapital Bank for nearly 12 years. She currently serves on the board of directors and on the communications task force for Jubilee Park and Community Center, one of the Bank’s partner financial literacy organizations in Dallas.
