PlainsCapital Bank Partners with UT-RGV to Participate in Executive Mentor Program
Plains Capital Bank is proud to announce that it has entered into a partnership with University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley to participate in their Executive Mentor Program. Through this program, PlainsCapital employees will have the opportunity to connect with and positively impact select business students from the University.
To kick-off this partnership, five PlainsCapital Bank employees – Amy Cantu, Albert Chapa, Larry Gonzalez, Brad Williams and Michael Williamson – will volunteer two hours per month, over a nine-month period, mentoring sophomore- and junior-level protégés who applied for and were accepted to this prestigious program.
The goal of the Executive Mentor Program is to expose students to hands-on practices of business leaders and help them enhance their professional development, interpersonal skills and networking abilities. In total, more than 100 mentors and student protégés have committed to participate in this educational initiative.
PlainsCapital also made a monetary donation of $2,500 to the University’s Executive Mentor Program. At the end of the school year, PlainsCapital will host a dinner to acknowledge the students’ completion of this program and celebrate their hard work and commitment to advancing their business acumen.
