PlainsCapital Bank Named 2012 Dallas Corporate Citizen of the Year

The Rotary Club of Dallas honors four local companies for their philanthropic efforts

PlainsCapital Bank today announced it has been named the
2012 Dallas Corporate Citizen of the Year in the public company category by the Rotary Club of Dallas. The awards luncheon, held Wednesday, April 24, recognized the corporations that went
“above and beyond” the norm in their support of Dallas charitable organizations, DISD and government programs.

The award nomination considered each company’s community activities in 2010. PlainsCapital Bank contributed funds to more than 75 Dallas-area organizations, totaling more than $680,000, and its employees regularly volunteered their time and resources to more than 30 local organizations.

“PlainsCapital Bank is exactly the type of company that deserves to be honored and recognized for giving back to the community,” said Ben Casey, president of the Rotary Club of Dallas. “You can tell they aspire to be strong in their business and in giving back to the community at large.”

PlainsCapital Bank, and its Dallas-based subsidiaries FirstSouthwest and PrimeLending, are committed to dedicating financial resources and leadership talent to civic, community, education, arts, culture, health and human services initiatives in the markets where it does business. For example, 230 employees from PrimeLending contributed more than 1,900 man-hours to build a Habitat for Humanity house for a local Dallas family, which was completed in December 2010. In addition, nine employees at FirstSouthwest in Dallas serve as tutors to children at Joseph J. Rhoads Learning Center and dedicate one hour per week to this effort, totaling approximately 470 hours per year.

“This award is very meaningful to PlainsCapital Bank because it resonates with our core value of giving back to the communities we serve,” said Alan B. White, chairman and CEO of PlainsCapital Corporation. “I’m honored to share this award with the dedicated and talented employees of PlainsCapital who lead by example when it comes to contributing time and resources on both personal and professional levels.”
