PlainsCapital Bank Makes Sizable Donation to Support Rio Grande Valley Charitable Organization

MCALLEN, TX (Dec. 22, 2015) — PlainsCapital Bank donated $10,000 to support the 2015-2016 AIM Media Texas Charities campaign benefitting charitable organizations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Twenty one charities, including the Salvation Army, Food Bank, Family Crisis Center and the Boys & Girls Club, are designated beneficiaries. 2015 marks the organization’s second annual, Valley-wide fundraising effort. During last year’s inaugural campaign, AIM Media Texas Charities raised more than $112,000 to support the hungry, homeless and needy across area communities. This year, AIM Media Texas Charities partnered with the Rio Grande Valley Community Foundation to handle all donations and disbursements. AIM Media Texas Charities covers all campaign administrative costs so that 100 percent of all money raised goes directly to the designated charities.

“This is such an impactful campaign, benefitting many local organizations and providing much needed support in our communities,” said Robert C. Norman, PlainsCapital Bank region chairman. “We are very proud to be part of this worthwhile cause.”

PlainsCapital Bank was a premier lead donor and sponsor of the 2014-2015 campaign.

The goal of AIM Media Texas Charities is not to aid only a few, but to provide direct support and assistance to as many charitable organizations as possible; significantly impacting families, neighbors, and communities in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy Counties. The organization is supported by the print and online efforts of the McAllen Monitor, Valley Morning Star, Brownsville Herald, El Nuevo Heraldo, Mid-Valley Town Crier, Coastal Current and El Extra

The Rio Grande Valley Community Foundation is a designated 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
