PlainsCapital Bank Lenders and Mo the Buffalo Participate in Lemonade Day’s Microlending Event at the Federal Reserve Bank
PlainsCapital Bank lenders and Mo the Buffalo participated in the Lemonade Day microlending event at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas on April 22. Volunteers included Tom Pulley, Rob Eggemeyer, Cole Dulaney, Jeff Garcia, Brett Butler and Todd Beckmann as Mo the Buffalo. More than 50 students from local Boys & Girls Clubs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area participated in the event.
Lemonade Day’s mission is to walk youth from a dream to a business plan, while teaching the same principles required to start any big company. PlainsCapital Bank volunteers walked youth participants through the loan process, heard their business plan pitch and talked to them about how a loan is made. During the event, each student received a $50 loan to get their lemonade stand business off the ground.
Obtaining a loan is just one of the many lessons of Lemonade Day. Students also learn about creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers and giving back to the community. PlainsCapital Bank is a proud sponsor of Lemonade Day Dallas which was held on Sunday, May 4. For more information visit http://lemonadeday.org/.
