PlainsCapital Bank in Austin Matches Funds Raised by Women of Hope for Austin Children's Shelter
PlainsCapital Bank in Austin made a $2,500 check donation to Austin Children’s Shelter as part of a matching funds partnership with Women of Hope. This group of generous, philanthropic women coordinates multiple service projects and charity events throughout the year to raise money for Austin Children’s Shelter, a “safe home” for children and young adults who have experienced significant trauma, loss, abuse or neglect.
Always eager to contribute, the children of Women of Hope volunteers raised more than $2,800 by asking friends, family and neighbors for small donations. PlainsCapital Bank matched $2,500 of the funds for a total donation of $5,324.81.
On June 20, PlainsCapital Bank’s Westlake branch hosted a “Children’s Bank Day” complete with popcorn, cupcakes and Mo the Buffalo cookies. Children who raised money for Austin Children’s Shelter were invited to PlainsCapital to deposit their donations into a special account, take a tour of the bank and hang out with Mo.
“Austin Children’s Shelter provides a valuable service to children and young adults in our community who long for a place to feel welcome and safe from abuse or neglect,” said Jon Levy, president of PlainsCapital Bank in Westlake. “Women of Hope is an outstanding group of women who are successfully teaching their children the importance of giving back to those less fortunate. It’s inspiring to see children donating their time and helping other children at such a young age, and PlainsCapital Bank was honored to participate in this fundraising opportunity.”
