PlainsCapital Bank Hosts Community Celebration in Honor of 10th Anniversary

WEATHERFORD, TX (April 7, 2016) — On April 6, 2006, PlainsCapital Bank opened its first location in Parker County in a parking lot in downtown Weatherford.  Fast forward ten years and PlainsCapital has grown to become an integral part of the local landscape.  In recognition of its early beginnings and the decade of growth and community partnerships that have since followed, PlainsCapital Bank is hosting a 10th anniversary celebration to thank the city of Weatherford and its residents.  The event will take place this Friday, April 8, 2016, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at PlainsCapital Bank’s Weatherford location at 1001 Santa Fe Drive.

Highlights include a proclamation by Weatherford Mayor Dennis Hooks, who will declare Friday “PlainsCapital Bank Day,” remarks by PlainsCapital Bank Chairman Alan B. White and a special  appearance by Mo, a live buffalo and PlainsCapital Bank’s mascot.  There will also be free barbeque and entertainment provided by well-known local country music artist Dan Roberts.

“Ten years ago when we opened, we didn’t even have a building,” said Pat Hamilton, PlainsCapital Bank Weatherford president, “but we recognized a need in the market for a community bank dedicated to local residents and businesses, and we believed we could fill it.”

Hamilton and PlainsCapital Bank Executive Vice President Bob Glenn – both longtime local bankers – proceeded to build PlainsCapital Bank’s presence in Parker County, establishing a branch in downtown Weatherford and creating a team of experienced, local bankers.

From those early days, PlainsCapital has grown to become one of the leading banks in Weatherford with more than $300 million in assets.

Glenn attributes the bank’s success to its local decision-making style and personalized customer service – hallmarks of PlainsCapital Bank.

“When you look at the makeup of our team, the depositors and the loans, you see that our bank is a true reflection of this community,” said Glenn.  “We work here, and we live here. Our customers are our neighbors. We have a vested interest in the business we do, and we recognize the important role this local oversight plays in our community.”

The same community-mindedness that permeates PlainsCapital Bank’s approach to business guides its philanthropic endeavors.  A dedicated supporter of charities, schools and non-profit organizations throughout Parker County, PlainsCapital Bank has contributed more than $1.3 million toward worthy causes in the community.

“It’s very exciting to be celebrating ten years,” said Hamilton. “There is still a tremendous amount of opportunity and work to be done, and we’ve only just begun. We will continue to deliver on our values to improve lives and strengthen the community, as we realize our vision to be the best bank in this city we call home.”
