PlainsCapital Bank Announces Officer Promotions For Lubbock
LUBBOCK, TX (April 11, 2017) – The following PlainsCapital Bank officers have received promotions:
Jessie Mendoza - Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer
PlainsCapital Bank has promoted Jessie Mendoza to vice president, commercial loan officer at the 75th and Slide location. Mendoza is responsible for developing commercial loans and depository accounts with community businesses in the greater Lubbock area. A graduate of Texas Tech University, his banking career in the Lubbock market spans 16 years. Mendoza joined PlainsCapital in 2015. He currently serves as a board member for Covenant Health System and a committee member for the City of Lubbock’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Additionally, he volunteers his time serving as president of Sondra’s Song, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people transition out of the foster care system. Mendoza is a past board member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, past president of Raiders Rojos – a Texas Tech Alumni Association Chapter, and has participated in the United Way’s loaned executive program.
Barbara Buckel - Vice President, Accounting Manager
Barbara Buckel has been promoted to vice president, accounting manager at PlainsCapital Bank’s 50th and University location, where she is responsible for overseeing accounts payable processing for PlainsCapital’s West Texas, North Texas, Austin, and San Antonio regions. A graduate of Lubbock Christian University, Buckel joined the bank in 1999. Over the years, she has volunteered her time participating in the Bank’s school sponsorship initiative as part of the LISD “Partners in Education” program, in addition to delivering food for Meals on Wheels and serving on the program review committee for the Lubbock Area United Way.
Richard Reyna - AVP, Branch Manager
Richard Reyna has been promoted to assistant vice president, branch manager at PlainsCapital Bank’s Southwest branch, where he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bank, including the management and development of branch staff, customer business development and sales services, and general administration. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Reyna joined the bank in 2008. Among his community involvement, he has co-chaired PlainsCapital’s March of Dimes and American Diabetes Association committees, in addition to volunteering his time with the Lubbock ISD Whiteside Elementary School “Tellers in Banking” program, mentoring students in financial literacy.
