New Bank Branch Opens at Carillon Senior LifeCare Community

PlainsCapital Bank Announces Ribbon-Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration

PlainsCapital Bank announces the opening of its newest bank location at the Carillon Senior LifeCare Community. A ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25.

In addition to local dignitaries from the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, PlainsCapital Bank and Carillon, many of the Carillon community’s 400 residents are expected to attend.

The PlainsCapital Bank Carillon Branch is the 13th Lubbock bank location for PlainsCapital. It’s located in the Windsong Building of the Carillon Senior LifeCare Community, located at 4002 16th Street. The bank’s new location opened for business on June 2 and its hours are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“When the community’s existing bank location came up for bid, we knew it was the perfect time for us to establish a physical presence at Carillon,” said John Owens, PlainsCapital Bank West Texas Region Chairman.

For the last twenty years, PlainsCapital Bank’s Wanda Parker made weekly visits to the retirement community to take care of the bank’s customers but it wasn’t until recently that PlainsCapital Bank was able to open a branch on the campus. “We’ve completely remodeled the space,” Owens said. “I think the residents will find that it’s a comfortable place to conduct their banking business.”

PlainsCapital’s Carillon location offers a complete range of deposit services. Residents can even purchase gift cards and travelers checks and rent safe deposit boxes. The branch is 1,139 square feet and includes a service counter with space for two tellers, the branch manager’s office, a safe deposit box room and a work room. Lee Lewis Construction, Inc., served as general contractor for the project.

“The convenience of our bank is a huge selling point for both residents and employees,” Owens said. “We’ll be able to serve both groups on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, rather than just once a week as we have in the past.”

Branch Manager Sharon Holder said Carillon is home to 400 residents and employs about 250 employees. The bank has special banking programs for both groups.

“Each resident who opens an account with us is automatically enrolled in PlainsCapital Roamers, our travel and social club,” Holder said. In addition to regularly scheduled Roamers events, PlainsCapital Bank will hold seminars and social events exclusively for Carillon residents.

“Now we can provide one-on-one service in a way that we couldn’t before,” Holder said. “Today, if residents need help balancing their checkbooks or have questions about their accounts, we have the computers, the personnel and the office space to assist them.”
