 The Chairman's Office

For many years at PlainsCapital, we’ve talked about our desire to expand PlainsCapital Bank through a combination of branch network expansion and organic growth. Our long-time vision is becoming a reality.

On Friday, September 13, PlainsCapital Bank assumed the operations of 51 former First National Bank of Edinburg branches. PlainsCapital Bank purchased at book value approximately $2.6 billion of assets and assumed approximately $2.4 billion of liabilities based on April 19, 2013 balances of First National Bank. This is a major milestone in the life of our company. Talk about MOMENTUM!

Most importantly, this transaction gives us a significant presence in new areas: the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas as well as locations in Houston, Corpus Christi and El Paso. This transaction dramatically expands our branch network across the state positioning PlainsCapital Bank closer to our goal of becoming the premier banking franchise in Texas.

I’d like to welcome the employees and the customers of First National Bank. We have a strong relationship-based culture at PlainsCapital Bank and my hope is everyone will feel very much at home in our branches. We are also excited to become involved in the new communities we now serve. As always, we are moving forward with Strength, Stability, Pride and Momentum.

Sincerely,

Alan B. White
