Executive Vice President & Chief of Bank Operations
Pete Villarreal is executive vice president and chief of bank operations for PlainsCapital Bank. In this capacity, Villarreal is responsible for operational strategy which includes overseeing the central and distributed operational services of the bank. Managed services include banking systems, payment services, contingency planning, and other general business services. Villarreal also serves as the chairman of the bank’s information systems steering committee. Prior to his role as EVP, Villarreal was senior vice president and director of information systems where he was instrumental in delivery of many innovative banking solutions including a cost effective payments processing framework to support bank expansion into new geographic regions. Villarreal also served as director of the Y2K Transition for PlainsCapital Corporation. Villarreal earned a bachelors degree in finance from Texas Tech University in 1990 and is also a graduate of the Texas Tech School of Community Bank Management. He has been employed with the bank since 1988. Villarreal is involved in youth baseball and football in the Lubbock community and has served on neighborhood associations boards. He is also a computer information systems curriculum advisor for two local universities. Villarreal has been a volunteer for many charitable organizations.
