John C. Owens

John C. Owens is an original founder of PlainsCapital Corporation and PlainsCapital Bank. He earned a B.S. and an M.S. from Texas Tech University. He is a current board member and past president of the Texas Tech Red Raider Club and is a member of the Texas Tech Ex-Students Association Century Club. He is also vice chairman of the Texas Tech University Foundation. He is a charter member and vice chairman of the Lubbock Power and Light Utility Board. Owens is also co-chairman for the National Kidney Foundation. His community involvement also includes supporting the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes and the American Heart Association. Owens is also past president of the Texas Tech University Letterman’s Association.
