Receptionist I
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Position Summary: Under direct supervision, operates the telephone switchboard console, receiving and transferring incoming calls; interacts effectively with walk-in customers and telephone callers; handles a variety of clerical tasks that can be performed around the console; work requires courtesy and tact in dealing with people. This classification requires knowledge of effective customer service techniques, ability to learn and accurately utilize a multi-line telephone system, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Consistently projects a pleasant and courteous image of the bank; using professionalism and proper business etiquette either in person or by telephone.
- Answers incoming telephone calls, ascertains callers' needs and/or the subject of their calls and transfers them to the proper department or person; takes accurate messages as necessary and ensures delivery to intended party.
- Effectively handles face-to-face walk-in customers, answers questions, and directs them to the appropriate person or department ensuring security and tactfulness.
- Performs a variety of general clerical tasks at or near the console, such as completing forms, maintaining files, light typing, and stuffing envelopes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience
- One year clerical experience in an office, preferably as a receptionist
