PlainsCapital Chairman and CEO Alan B. White’s launched PlainsCapital Bank in 1988 with the belief that company culture would play a unique role in the success of PlainsCapital. As an employee at Lubbock National Bank, he experienced first-hand the way culture could influence employee attitudes, performance and loyalty—and ultimately the bank’s success.
Halloween at PlainsCapital
White’s favorite employee event without a doubt is Halloween. Each year, White picks a Halloween theme that supports a company initiative. For instance, in 1999, White dressed up in a spacesuit to motivate employees for the new millennium. In 2003, White dressed as a football coach and made a whirlwind tour of each Texas market to drum up excitement about the inaugural PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl. And, in 2004, White dressed as a superhero named “White Lightning” to announce the upcoming release of a new strategic plan. Halloween is an opportunity for employees and customers to experience the PlainsCapital culture.

Halloween 2008's theme was "Heroes".
